FIAT II: Internet-Scale Credit
Permissionless
FIAT II is a stablecoin protocol capable of supporting credit facilities for any onchain asset. Asset vaults compete in a credit marketplace for the amount and cost of debt which they can mint. Anyone can deploy a vault, but it is up to protocol governance to determine the capital efficiency available to each.
Flexible
FIAT II can also support undersecured credit lines to borrowers. Users can deploy vaults from which only a permissioned address(es) can borrow, allowing others to pledge credit on their behalf. Modular vault templates ensure that both sides can express their views on interest rates, repayment, and the terms of default.
Uncorrelated
Users can earn yield underwriting the liquidation risk of FIAT II vaults. Such yield is earned in addition to whatever interest the user’s collateral may already be accruing, offering further diversification.
Integrated
Any DeFi project or user can integrate with FIAT II. Whether it’s for protocol-issued assets, governance tokens, or treasury management, FIAT gives both borrowers and lenders multiple reasons to participate.
